third time's the charm
Good riddance!
That is what I have to say to our now former big unused TV.
Since moving into our new place which came with a perfectly compact flat screen TV more suited to its perfectly compact size, our big old TV sat in our loft taking up precious space. We posted it on Craigslist three times before meeting success in a sweet Australian girl who doesn't speak Japanese. I didn't share with her that there is little on Japanese TV aside from Japanese programming (we really wanted to get the TV out of here).
And now we've got 3500 yen in our pockets to show for our persistence. Not what we were originally hoping, but we had to lower our expectations after no one wanted it the first time around.
The woman on the phone at the delivery company told Jeff that we had to ship it in the box it came in. It didn't come in a box - we may be like the tenth owners of this TV. So we picked up 5 boxes from a little produce stand and finessed a stand-in. This is Jeff wrapping up the package. He used an entire roll of clear packing tape and went out for more brown tape. Remind you of anyone we know, Mom?
Mata ne,
Melissa
